Turn Procrastination into Action (Part 3 of 3)

To help you take action on your dreams, we’ve talked about starting with the smallest possible step and even before that, choosing the journey in the first place.
The paradox: Don’t let pressure to choose the “right” journey stop you from taking the first step!

There’s a fine line between choosing a journey and procrastinating even further by waffling in indecision about which journey to take.
Let go of the pressure you’re putting on yourself to choose “correctly.”
This is life. There are no answers in the back of the book. (Annoying, right?!) It’s not a test, and you’re not being graded, no matter how much society might try to convince you otherwise.
Choosing the journey doesn’t mean you’re choosing for the rest of your life TODAY. You’re not stuck on a particular path forever.
Just be conscious of what choice you’re making. Choose something that feels aligned at least for now, and step into it. See how it goes. You'll have plenty of opportunities to refine your path, or change it completely.
If you’re not sure what you really want but you know it’s greater than or different from what you’re currently experiencing, take small steps in a few different directions.
You are allowed – and indeed encouraged – to change course as you learn and grow along the way.
Sometimes you outgrow the goals you set and the dreams you dream. Sometimes you double down on them. Sometimes what “seemed like a good idea at the time” turns out to be a dud.
Let it all be ok. Even that dud might lead you to opportunities you wouldn’t have imagined without it.
Above all, celebrate the fact that you made a choice and stepped into it!
Front load the action instead of the analysis paralysis. Instead of spinning in stress and anxiety about making the “right” choice, learn to trust your ability to handle the outcomes of the choices you make.
The more you trust yourself, the more you see every choice as an opportunity to learn and grow.
Life is nonlinear. It’s full of twists and turns, ups and downs, sidetracks and backtracks. And every single one of those nonlinear experiences leads you straight home to yourself.
Your life as a whole is the biggest journey of all, and you’ve already made the most important choice: to be here now.
Everything else is just a practice in trusting yourself.
